Name: Jeremy Warmels
Role: Office Manager
When did you join the team: Summer 2021

What about leadership development and supporting principals resonates with you most?
Change, both big and small just has to start with only one person. When it comes to working at PIC, I know we have strong leaders in front of us and that giving them additional resources, perspectives and encouragement can help impact thousands of students.

What is something you have learned or taken away from PIC’s sessions and core content areas?
I have learned a lot through some of the PIC sessions. One of the things I have enjoyed most is Design Thinking. It has given me such a different perspective when it comes to problem solving.

How would you define equity for public education?
I believe that equity for public education would mean that I could walk into any school in the DFW area and expect the same level of attention, supplies, knowledge, and resources despite my income level, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, education level of my parents, or my gender.

What three words would your community, family or friends use to describe you?
Loud, happy, and caring.

What energizes you outside of work?
Exploring the area with family and friends.

What is your favorite DFW restaurant?
Gyu-Kaku and Lupe Tortilla

What educator (school leader, teacher, etc.) influenced or inspired you and why?
Mrs. Heather Stoker because she believed in me and encouraged me when a lot of teachers didn’t.

What is your favorite hobby?
Traveling

What is your favorite song?
I Don’t Wanna Be by Gavin DeGraw
