Dr. Tara Resla

Director of Coaching & Facilitation

Tara Resla currently serves as the Director of Coaching and Facilitation. In this role, she manages the design, operations, and quality assurance of principal coaching as well as serving as a principal coach herself. She also supports the alignment of participant needs and PIC programs through ongoing program review, refinement, development, and delivery.

Tara brings fifteen years experience as a teacher, teacher coach, and principal in Title I schools. In 2021, she was awarded Principal of the Year by Texas Rural Education Agency in recognition of district-wide, elementary and secondary leadership. Tara also brings experience as a leadership coach and in principal certification program design and delivery.

Tara’s life calling is to ensure each and every student has access to high quality instruction and culturally relevant educational experiences, reaching their highest potential. This drive is what led her career focus to leadership, which has the potential to transform student experiences and outcomes, school wide. Her graduate study focus was on the epistemological and sociological influences on school culture with emphasis on race and education and special education law. Tara earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Midwestern State University and a Ph.D. in K-16 Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

When Tara is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, family, and friends, hiking, practicing yoga, reading, gardening, traveling, going to church, and working on abstract art projects.
